Hi Girls,
thought I would let you know of the new arrival in our household - Amelia Christina Turnbull, born on 15 July 2009 at 10:14am weighing in at 7lbs 4oz and 52cm long. She is just beautiful and such an angel. When I have recovered from the surgery and we are up and about we will come and join you all for a sewing day! All the girly quilts I made over the years are now coming into good use!!!!

Take care

Hello Judith
Your blog was our very first and we were so excited. We enjoyed reading about your passion. One of our group is in Tassie this month and promised to catch Louisa's walk.
Cheers Cathie

Hi Ladies,
Thanks for such a wonderful lunch the other day, it was fantastic to catch up with you after such a long time. I couldn't believe how long it has been since I saw you all.

I have to say that I have caught the sewing bug again (or at least buying magazines to look at different projects!). I just bought the Australian Homespun Yearbook this morning and was amazed when I opened it up to find that they have a block of the month going for Breast Cancer! Just after we spoke of the possibility of putting a quilt together for exactly that, here is the pattern that could assist. Maybe you ladies would be interested in doing the block of the month, that way you could all do a block yourselves and put it together... a real joint effort! (maybe another sick day or two hey girls - make it after July and I will be there!!!!!) The patterns include artists like Leanne Beasley, Rosalie Quinlan, Anni Downs (Angels galore!!!!!), Lynette Anderson and heaps of other well known artists. This issue has the first two blocks and all the material requirements for the entire quilt. Just a thought!!!!

Oh Cathy, they are also giving away a fabric pack in pink, you only have to write in 25 words or less what women and friendship meant to you. Then you have to include a photo of a recently completed project from Homespun or one of your craft group. After your stories the other day, I thought you would find this easy to write, especially about the Honeyjumbles!!!

Bub and I are well, we go for another scan on Monday, so I will keep you all informed of the bub's progress!

Take care
Lots of Love

Hi,

I was really interested to hear of your Handmade Quilt web site. It is groups like yours that will put the community back into being community!! Well done.

I thought I should let you know about what we do in Hobart. My husband & I are professional actors who run an award winning convict drama which tells the story of a convict woman sentenced to Van Diemens Land for seven years. She comes out on the ship "The Rajah" which has become famous for its quilt. We showcase the making of the quilt and a couple of audience members have promised to make some more quilts for the show! Please visit our web site for details @ livehistoryhobart.com.au

You will find some details about the Rajah Quilt and also the Convict Bonnets on one of my blogs. Perhaps the next time any of your group is down in Hobart we will see you on "Louisa's Walk"?
